“White City Licorice” has a long history and culture, and its regional characteristics are profound. It is famous for its large and uniform roots, flat appearance, fragrant smell, sweet taste and high quality. Licorice is mainly produced in the Baicheng area in Jilin Province. It is a perennial herbaceous perennial plant with the characteristics of cold resistance, early resistance and salt and alkali resistance. Licorice can be used more than one product, especially the wide application of glycyrrhizin in medicine, which is more scarce and precious.

Baicheng licorice quality technical requirements First, the variety of Ural licorice. Physical and chemical indicators: glycyrrhizic acid content (%) ≥ 2.3, glycyrrhizin content (%) ≥ 0.7. 3. Producers within the Baicheng licorice production area may submit an application to the Baicheng Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau for the use of the “Special Mark for Geographical Indication Products”, which shall be reviewed by the Jilin Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and announced to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine for approval. The testing agency of Baicheng Licorice is selected by the Jilin Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision in the testing institutions that meet the qualification requirements.
