Gamba Sheep

Gamba sheep is a local sheep raised by the farmers and herders in Gamba County, Shigatse Province, Tibet, between 4,300 and 6,800 meters above sea level. Gamba sheep consumes non-polluting natural pastures and drinks water from the snow-capped mountains. It has the characteristics of “small legs and big belly” and the characteristics of sexual field, timidity and sensitivity. The body weight ranges from 25 kg to 35 k kg, and the meat quality is good. With its three outstanding characteristics of “fine, delicious and unscented”, it is well-known in the Tibet Autonomous Region and is the designated tribute of the Panchen Lama.

Gamba sheep quality technical requirements First, the variety of Tibetan sheep (local strain). Second, feeding conditions 1. Feeding environment and feed conditions: (1) Feeding environment: The altitude of the producing area is 4300m to 6800m, the terrain and landform are complex, the vertical zonal and regional distribution are obvious, the vegetation is diverse, and the variety is rich. The distribution of pasture has dwarf sedge and alpine ridge. Grass, dwarf velvet grass, buttercup, gentian, fescue, Stipa purpurea, Caragana, Stellera chamaejasme, dandelion, Chinese milk vetch, Potentilla, Golden plum, sand grass, Qingcao grass, Astragalus, Oxytropis Alpine plants such as alfalfa and Elymus, and precious medicinal plants such as snow lotus. Drinking water comes from glacial snow melt or spring water above 5000m above sea level. (2) Feed: Natural vegetation is the main feed. Third, slaughtering and processing 1. Sheep source standard: Healthy sheep produced in accordance with the standards of the production area. 2. 3. It has the appearance of "small legs and big belly". The body color is mainly white, with brown, black, brown patches or spots around the head, eyes and cheeks. There are similar spots on the ears, mouth, and lower limbs. A few neck and body motley. The tail is drooping and is a fat-tailed type with a wide upper and lower tip. Most of the rams have large spiral angles, and most of the corners extend outward. Most of the ewes have no horns or small horns. (2) Mutton: Muscle color is light red to deep red, fat and muscle layering is obvious, fat is milky white to light yellow. The meat is tender, delicious and tasteless. 2. (2) Mutton: muscle protein content of each part ≥ 20%, fat content ≤ 8.22%; cholesterol ≤ 74.4mg / kg. 3.
