The planting area of licorice in the county has reached 80,000 mu. At the same time, the industrialization development mode of “enterprise + technology + base” has been implemented, and more than 3,000 tons of licorice are processed annually.
Minqin licorice quality technical requirements (1) source. Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. (2) Site conditions. Within the protected area, the altitude is 1298m to 1936m, sandy loam, the soil pH is 7.5 to 8.5, and the soil organic matter content is ≥0.8%. (3) Cultivation management. 1. Seed requirements: Must be seeds from the protected area. 2. Sowing: (1) Sowing time: from mid-April to late May. (2) Seeding density: Live licorice 37.5kg/hm2, planting licorice 37.5-52.5 million plants/hm2. 3. Fertilizer water management: (1) Base fertilizer: Before the planting, the organic fertilizer applied per hectare is ≥60000 kg. (2) Irrigation: The third year of irrigation is ≤4 times of irrigation, and watering is prohibited for 80 days before harvesting. 4. Environmental and safety requirements: The use of pesticides, fertilizers, etc. must comply with relevant national regulations and must not pollute the environment. (4) Harvesting. The growth of licorice grows ≥3 years, and the harvesting time is from mid-March to mid-April and late October to late November. (5) Quality characteristics. 1. Sensory characteristics: root length ≥ 20cm, root diameter ≥ 1cm. The root strip is thick, the root strip is even, the appearance is flat, the surface is reddish brown, there are obvious longitudinal wrinkles and transverse wrinkles, the cross section is light yellow, the licorice hard powder foot, the fiber is slender, the phloem and the xylem joint have no cracks, the gas is fragrant, Sweet and sweet. 2. Physical and chemical indicators: The project requires glycyrrhizic acid content (%) ≥ 2.5 glycyrrhizin content (%) ≥ 1.2 water content (%) ≤ 103. The producers of the Minqin licorice GI product protection area can apply to the Minqin County Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau of Gansu Province for the use of the “Special Mark for Geographical Indication Products”, which is reviewed by the Gansu Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and is subject to the national quality inspection. The General Administration announced the approval. The legal inspection agency of Minqin licorice is designated by the Gansu Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision.
