The special product of Taibao Mountain in Heilongjiang Shuangyashan is grown in a special geographical location, multi-element soil, suitable temperature and good ecological environment, so it produces unique qualities different from any other region, the same variety or different varieties. When planted in CPIC and grown in other areas, there are considerable differences in nutrients and odors. Planting in Taibao will generate a special style of Taibao. Taibao carrots are pungent and slightly sweet, and they are also like radish. Taibao carrot is a kind of home-grown vegetable with crispy taste and rich nutrition. It is known as “small ginseng”. Taibao carrot meat is crisp and tender, raw and crisp, and has no slag. It has a strong local flavor and distinctive regional characteristics.

According to "Shuangyashan City" (1991 edition), Taibao Town has been planting carrots in large quantities since 1973. In 1980, according to the favorable conditions of Taibao Town, “good soil quality, high fertilizer efficiency, close to the city and convenient for the masses”, Shuangyashan Municipal Government determined that Taibao Town in Sifangtai District was a professional base for carrot planting. In 1981, the Shuangyashan Municipal Government carried out agricultural planting and zoning work. Due to the superior climatic conditions of Taibao Town, the annual accumulated temperature of the activity was between 2200 °C and 2300 °C, which was divided into the high accumulation temperature and the suburbs and carrot planting areas. Around 1986, some villagers in Taibao Town began to introduce “five-inch ginseng” carrot seeds for trial planting. After the autumn harvest, the harvested carrots were better than the neighboring towns. Analysis of the reasons, Taibao town arable land itself is thick black soil, rich in humus soil, sandy characteristics, soil permeability, and the region has large temperature difference between day and night, abundant rainfall, and high quality carrot growth conditions. The carrots produced in Taibao Town are smooth and tidy, with a deep red color, straight and uncrossed, and sweet and brittle. In 1989, the carrots planted in Sihe Village of Taibao Town were listed as the famous native products of Sifangtai District.

Taibao carrot quality technical requirements First, the variety of cylindrical types. Second, the site conditions soil type is black soil, the texture is loam. Producers within the scope of the Taibao carrot production area may submit an application to the Shuangyashan City Market Supervision Administration for the use of the “Special Mark for Geographical Indication Products”, which shall be reviewed by the Heilongjiang Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision and reported to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine for approval. The testing organization of Taibao carrot is selected by the Heilongjiang Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision in the testing institutions that meet the qualification requirements.
