Potato production in Keshan County began in the late Qing Dynasty and has a history of about 100 years. Rural families have experience in growing potatoes. Due to the superior natural conditions, the planting area has been continuously expanded. Especially after three years of large-scale replacement, the area and output have increased significantly. Since the 1960s, it has been the national potato seed potato production base and commercial potato distribution center. The annual meeting of the potato is Keshan County, the only site to visit. The Heilongjiang Province Potato Improvement Center in Keshan has also been promoted to the National Potato Improvement Center. In recent years, Keshan County has continuously increased the intensity of land transfer work, and has formed a contiguous scale planting with a forest belt grid as a unit, forming a cultivation mode of unified seed collection, and the cultivation level has been greatly improved.

Keshan County is located in the western part of Heilongjiang Province and northeast of Qiqihar. Keshan has a land area of ​​about 3,320 square kilometers and a cultivated area of ​​about 3.02 million mu. Keshan Materialized Tianbao, with fertile soil and unique agricultural advantages, is the national key commodity grain base county, soybean export base county and potato base county. It is known as the “Northern Granary” and “Soybean Town”. Keshan County is located in the hinterland of the Songnen Plain in the world's three major black soil belts. It is located in the world soybean soybean production area at 47 degrees north latitude and enjoys the reputation of “China's high-protein soybean town”. The Ministry of Agriculture listed Keshan County as a non-GM soybean production protection zone in China. A large part of the reason is due to its superior natural conditions, excellent ecological environment, high mechanization level and strict standard of green organic food production.
