"Li Shizhen records in the "Compendium of Materia Medica" that the plum, the real (smell) sweet, sour, flat, non-toxic. Shengjin quenches thirst, clear the spirit of the gas, alcohol." Planting history Wudang plum has a long history, far from the Northern Song Dynasty Late. In 1184, the Northern Song Dynasty classic "Zhen Wu Qi Sheng Lu" has the record of 榔梅: "The 榔梅者, is the 榔木梅实, peach nucleus apricot, taste sour and sweet." Wudang Yumei was first referred to as Yumei, and with the legendary evolution of Taihe Mountain and the legend of Zhenwu’s “Folding Plums”, folk customs have been widely used since the “Wudang Plum Blossoms”. In the process of historical inheritance, Wudang Yumei gradually formed the characteristics of politics, religion and mass: Wudang, Mei and Mei Dynasty reached its peak. In the eleventh year of Yongle, Ming Chengzu Zhu Xi decreed that the Wudang 榔 plum fruit was listed as a tribute, and it was presented by Wudang Mountain every year. Because the Emperor Zhenwu practiced it into a fairy, the Song Dynasty gave it the "predicted year" fruit, the Yuan Dynasty. Give it the "never annihilation" of the fairy fruit, the Ming Dynasty Wudang Yumei became the "Yingrui Chengxiang" Ruiying. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the geographer Xu Xiake of Tianqi three years (AD 1623) visited Wudang Mountain. His "You Taihe Mountain" diary wrote that in the Qiongtai Zhongguan and Nanyan Palace, there were 8 plums. And the Taoist who sent his fruit was trembled, fearing that he would be convicted of being known. Xu Xiake also brought the plum fruit back home to give her old mother a birthday. Geographical conditions The Wudang Mountains area belongs to the north subtropical monsoon climate zone, which is warm in winter and cool in summer. In addition, the "lake effect" of the Danjiangkou Reservoir's large water body in the Hanjiang River, the climate characteristics of the community are more obvious, creating unique conditions for the growth and development of Wudang Plum, Wudang, Meixiguang, drought-tolerant, and fearful, the total sunshine of Danjiangkou City for the whole year. The average is 1950 hours, the percentage of sunshine is 44%, 140 to 256 hours more than the neighboring fruit production areas in southwestern Hubei, Hunan, and Jiangxi. The sufficient light conditions are very suitable for the growth of Wudang plum; the soil of Wudangyumei Park is sand. The soil, light and medium-sized, mainly neutral, provides natural mineral and organic nutrients for the growth and development of Wudang. In addition, the Yumei Park is mainly distributed in the hills below 400 meters above sea level in the reservoir area. The water quality of the Danjiangkou reservoir area is always above the national standard Class II water quality, and there is no pollution around. Therefore, the fruit of Wudang jasmine is sour and has a low acidity and pests, which creates a rare environmental condition for the formation of good quality of Wudang jasmine.
